Virginia Health Insurance Assistance and Public Health Services
In Virginia there are some great public health care programs available for those that can’t afford health insurance or cannot qualify for it due to health status.
Obviously Medicaid is the preferred service, but it can be very difficult to qualify for. Additionally there is the FAMIS program and programs for children. FAMIS is a comprehensive health insurance program for Virginia’s children. FAMIS is administered by the Virginia Department of
Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) and is funded by the state and federal government.
We will delve more deeply into these programs in this section as this page is strictly the header or table of content page for our Virginia public assistance section.
