Individual and Family Health Insurance Plans

Understanding Individual and Family Health Insurance Plans

As with the current individual health insurance market, there are multiple levels of coverage to choose from on and off the exchange. The Affordable Care Act established four coverage groups according to a formula for cost sharing and annual medical expenses. These groups range from 60 to 90 percent coverage for health care costs per year, with premiums varying according to the amount of coverage you buy. Bronze plans will offer the most affordable premiums, while cost sharing will be greater than other plans at 40 percent. Platinum policies will provide the lowest cost sharing, but have higher monthly rates.

Guidance and Assistance

Every Choice Health Insurance Agents are Licensed as well as Marketplace-certified to help you apply for On or Off exchange plans. Our agents are qualified to quote and sell plans on the exchange, and have the technology to get you coverage with financial assistance, or let you know whether you’re eligible to begin with.

Product Information

Details about each available health insurance policy can be viewed online through the Every Choice Health Insurance website. Here you can find a break down of different deductibles, coinsurance and premium rates from the insurers in your area. You are able to choose plans based on the information provided on the site.

Modified Adjusted Gross Income, citizenship status, current and prior coverage status, among other eligibility questions help to determine if you should purchase a Marketplace or off-exchange Individual and Family Health Plan. Individuals in prison or without legal residency in the U.S. do not qualify, and if you earn over a certain amount, you may not be able to receive a tax credit or subsidy. Even if you do not qualify for financial assistance, you can purchase a plan as long as you apply during Open Enrollment and do not have any other source of minimum essential coverage (Medicare, TRICARE, Medicaid, employer-sponsored coverage, COBRA and so forth).

How to Enroll

Call a licensed insurance agent at 888-803-5917 to help make your application a breeze. Otherwise you may call the Marketplace directly, which is not recommended as navigators do not carry insurance licenses or fully know their products.
