Vero Beach Affordable Health Insurance
Compared to other areas of the Atlantic Coast of Florida, Vero Beach has slimmer choices for reputable health insurance companies with great plans to choose from. This is actually an advantage, as it takes some of the confusion out of the process by narrowing down your best options from the beginning. Residents of Vero Beach can receive individual medical coverage through Cigna, Celtic, Humana or UnitedHealthcare, the latter two tending to be our consistent top choices. East Coast Health Insurance is not just a vast information bank for Floridians, we can help you find the perfect plan to fit your lifestyle and budget. Call us at 888 803 5917, and a licensed Florida agent will gladly handle your inquiries and assist in any way possible.
The best way to find out about pricing, besides consulting a live agent, is to get acquainted with our quote engine by entering your zip code and starting the process on your own. Sample Vero Beach Health Insurance Quote
To give an adequate picture of the most affordable health insurance plans in Vero Beach, we conducted a quote engine search for a 30-year-old male non-smoker living in the area. Setting the deductible in the $2,500 region we have found usually equals the best balance of premium and deductible cost. In Vero Beach, there are 86 plans altogether for this client to choose from. Corresponding with our deductible selection, Cigna offers the lowest priced plan for the criteria we entered. This is different from most areas of the state, as UnitedHealthOne typically claims the lowest premium. This is why it is so essential to research and run a quote on yourself to get the proper pricing for your own criteria, as they always change from person to person.
For $129 per month – as applied to this sample individual – Cigna offers their Open Access Value plan, which gives members the ability to use their PPO network (arguably much smaller than some of their competitors, but the choice is yours) or non-network providers for care. Primary care doctor’s office visits are available for a $40 copay as soon as your plan begins, and prescription drugs are also covered for a copayment. Usually the lowest premium plans do not include 80% coverage after deductible, which this plan does, and with an A rating from plan members it seems like a trustworthy choice.
Very close nearby at $131 per month is UnitedHealthOne, the usual contender for lowest premium cost. The Copay Select Value plan is another top-notch, highly recommended plan including prescription drug coverage (on generics only) and your first four doctor’s office visits for $35 – same price for specialist and primary care, which is fairly unusual. These plans cover a variety of hospital services after deductible, so you have access to everything you might need in case of emergency. Though Celtic plans seem to get a low customer satisfaction rating, the Preferred Select PPO 80/20 plan offers the least expensive office visit cost of any plan in Vero Beach at $15. This plan is priced competitively at $153 per month, and also offers generic and brand name prescriptions for a copay, starting at $10.
HumanaOne has lower premiums in this range though they are only available on HSA plans with no first-dollar benefits. So we took the liberty of using the first Humana plan with office visits included, which happened to be their Enhanced Copay 80 plan with a $1,000 pharmacy deductible. In Vero Beach this plan operates through HumanaOne’s POS network, which also gives you the choice of out-of-network services. From the beginning of your plan, you can visit a general physician of your choosing for a $35 copay and generic prescriptions before the deductible is met. Though the prescription deductible is a little steep, this is still a great plan that we can certainly recommend as we work with HumanaOne quite frequently.
