Fort Lauderdale and Broward County Health Insurance Quote

Fort Lauderdale health insurance quote can be difficult to understand. Health Insurance Premium and Quotes in Broward County and Fort Lauderdale including Plantation, Weston, Hollywood, Coral Springs, Pompano Beach, and Oakland Park are very confusing for most people as they go by zip code and demographic.  Don’t misunderstand health insurance in complicated in other Florida counties as well but Broward is especially challenging because their zip code combinations are also shared with Miami.

Broward & Fort Lauderdale Health Insurance Companies

For instance 330 in Coral Springs is also the zip code prefix in most of Miami.  Miami health insurance premiums are certainly higher then Broward.  But here is a basic Broward and Fort Lauderdale premium example the ratios I used though for instance Cigna being cheaper then Aetna usually holds true across most demographics.  The Weston, Plantation, Hollywood, Davie, Coral Springs, Tamarac, Lauderdale Lakes, Lauderhill, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, North Lauderdale, and Pembroke Pines areas are all included in these sample quotes, and a particular demographic will be the same price in any of these cities.

Additionally the Miami Dade Blue plan is expected to arrive in Broward county in the next couple of months.  For now, unfortunately I am not certain when as there has been much speculation etc. but most of the dates they gave have not been confirmed.  I believe it is called Broward Blue or something to that effect perhaps Broward Blue Cross Blue Shield.  In the meantime though a Blue Cross health insurance quote is still a little more money per month then Cigna or Avmed, of course their coverage though is far more comprehensive.

What do I mean by this?  Firstly, their plans are more co-pay based.  For instance a colonoscopy on the Broward-Fort Lauderdale Blue Plan is free and they are the only health insurance company that covers this exam for free (it is darn expensive to get someone to investigate your butt these days!).  Additionally Blue Cross Blue Shield also covers MRI’s and all advanced imaging with a simple co-pay.  But a very easy way to differentiate Blue Cross Blue Shield as well as Vista Health Plan in Broward is that the deductible only applies to very big items such as hospitalization.

Remember one of the easiest ways to fix health care locally in our community is to start shopping your medical procedures.  Don’t just get the MRI call around first, I don’t care if Blue Cross and Vista are picking up the tab or you are.  We need to get connected to our medical costs.

In any event as I keep saying these plans are basically all the same, except Vista and Blue Cross Blue Shield (the 590 series specifically and this is our main product of theirs besides their new Broward Blue when it comes out) because they do not hit you with your deductible unless it is a major event.

Weston Health Insurance and The  330 Zip Code

Another important, overlooked area is the Weston health insurance market.  Weston health insurance quotes are identical for the most part to Broward County health insurance quotes.  Why do I point this out?  Because in the ast due to the 333 prefix on the zip code in Weston, companies like United Health One had different rates in Weston then the rest of the county.  Now that this error has been fixed you can confidently buy health insurance in Weston without worrying if you should use your home zip code or office.

However because of the cost of certain medical procedures Broward County often has higher rates then both the Palm Beach health insurance market and to the South, Miami-Dade health insurance quotes.  Of course this means if you have a home in two cities one in Broward and the other in Palm Beach you should consider using Palm Beach as your primary residence.  (The same goes for auto insurance.)  Even if your office is in West Palm Beach or Miami Dade you still should consider your office as your primary residence.  But this is a secret that should not be attributed to East Coast Health Insurance.

Fort Lauderdale and Broward County Sample Health Insurance Quote

Now we are going to get some sample health insurance quotes in Broward County for a 34 year old male.  In this example we are going to base the quotes on me, a 34 year old male in peak physical condition.  Indeed I am a fine specimen.  I am going to buy a plan with co-pays at the doctor and pharmacy and am going to pick a 2500 deductible.  The only other variable of consequence is the total out of pocket costs when we look at coinsurance plus deductible so I am going to have four columns the company name, the plan name, the maximum out of pocket, and the premium.
Just to be fair, I also included name brand drug coverage where ever possible except for the blue cross plans because they don’t offer that.  Additionally the Broward County Health Insurance Plans from Blue Cross are available with a smaller network for less money for instance instead of $196 they would be $161.

As you can tell the best value is obviously in Palm Beach!  But as you are not going to move there the more realistic option would be Avmed for $140.  As we keep saying Avmed is not only non-profit but also pays the brokers 30% less then the other carriers besides Blue Cross.  For $20 more though I would most likely take the Blue select plan which is identical to the traditional one below albeit with a smaller network.  If neither plan interests you and you had to pick one of the others, I actually have United right now myself and have had it for a couple of years.

But here you will certainly have to pay for any expense out of the ordinary.  So the winner in Broward county is Avmed!  Check back  to our Broward Health Insurance page in the next couple of months as we have the new Broward Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan and who knows what else will have happened!

Please keep reading below though as I have listed all the Broward Health Resources for the underprivileged or people that might qualify for assistance.

Broward and Fort Lauderdale Health Insurance Premium Example

For example, a 40-year old healthy male can purchase a catastrophic plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield for only $50 per month. A comprehensive plan, including major medical, office visit and prescription coverage’s, will cost only $76 per month (United HealthCare’s Copay Select plan). Naturally, Florida health insurance policies are subject to underwriting, which could affect rates.  Additionally Blue Cross Blue Shield has just released a new plan in Miami Dade, called Miami Dade Blue its rates are 40% less then its cheapest competitor, of course the network is smaller but the coverage is more complete.  This plan is expected to start in Broward very soon and when it does ECHealthInsurance will be recommending it to almost everyone.

Also Broward county has exceptional social programs.  The North Broward Hospital District and South Broward Hospital District provide excellent, free care to our community for people that can’t afford health insurance.  Additionally there are about four other programs you can check out by calling us or going to free health insurance resource page.  At ECHealthInsurance we have painstakingly indexed all of Florida’s free and Government subsidized programs to offer coverage to nearly every Floridian.  Not all of the places below are free so either call us for navigation or call the facilities themselves.
