I know you’ve seen the cartoon before, a bull in a china shop. Classic. Okay now picture three bulls in a china shop, and that china shop is the U.S. economy, and you’ve got a very crowded volatile situation. These aren’t your run of the mill bulls you see in the rodeo either. Not just a bull who will buck you off and leave you with a mouth full of dirt. No, I’m talking about a bull so powerful that if not taken care of and handled properly will buck you off, leave you chewing on dirt, burst through the arena gates, tip over your car, then come back looking for you.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you The big three facing congress right now –
-
Bull # 1 – Health Care Reform
-
Bull # 2 – Cap & Trade
-
Bull # 3 – War Tax
Getting a little crowded in that china shop isn’t it? Especially when the biggest bull of all is trying to get everyone’s attention before the end of the year. Democrats view the Health Care reform as being imperative that something get passed soon as action on the bill has slowed immensely. Could be several reasons for that, maybe good old classic congressional sabotage? For example Sen. Judd Gregg from New Hampshire whose office was busted circulating a letter listing various parliamentary moves for slowing action on the bill. Could also be that the bill is pretty cloudy and still needs serious work before going to a vote.
The potential to not get either of these bulls taken care of correctly is also a big issue at stake here. The Health Care Bull, if not handled properly could really do a number on that china shop, leaving a big mess behind. Surely not something to rush through congress by the end of the year.
