ALL Kids Program

ALL Kids is the Children’s Health Insurance Program administered by the Alabama Department of Public Health, providing coverage to children under age 19 living in the state. The program is like Medicaid, though accepts a higher level of household income than SOBRA Medicaid. Therefore, the program is open to children in families with income over the federal poverty level. ALL Kids covers a comprehensive set of benefits continuously for 12 months, including doctor’s office visits, hospital care, dental and vision care, prescriptions and more.

ALL Kids Income Eligibility

In order to qualify for ALL Kids, you must have an income that corresponds with the size of your family and the federal poverty guideline. Below is a chart indicating the eligibility for monthly income as it relates to ALL Kids and Medicaid. Deductions may be taken off gross monthly income for working adults in the home, child support received per family, or child or adult daycare expenses.

ALL Kids PLUS

ALL Kids PLUS is an extension of ALL Kids for children with special health needs. Developed by the Alabama Department of Public Health and several state agencies, ALL Kids PLUS supplements the basic ALL Kids plan by covering a larger number of benefits specific to any physical and mental health needs. In order to use the ALL Kids PLUS program, children with special health needs must be enrolled in ALL Kids and meet the eligibility criteria of the participating state agencies.

Every type of care is individualized to the specific needs of each member, and may include care coordination, family support services, special instruction/training, nutrition services, transportation, social services, durable medical equipment and supplies, and related rehabilitative services.
